Tuesday 30th March 2010 saw the first tournament played on the new synthetic green. The Euston Club Chairman, Mr. Andrew Gadsden welcomed competitors and announced a further 3 year funding for the event.
The Workers added the Euston Superbowls trophy to their 2010 showcase with a convincing win over Mildura on the new Superturf bowling green. Also “Resting Touchers” accounted for the “Golden Girls” in the Super League competition.
Tournament Director Mark Eckel said. Once again the competition has been a resounding success with the showcasing of the Euston Bowls facility being the highlight and opening a new chapter in regional Victorian lawn bowls. Also my gratitude to Ron Boyd for managing the Super League series which was enjoyed by all.
Euston Club CEO Ray Jones presented the $2000 prize money and praised the standard of bowls played and complimented the club Board on their progressive attitude and club staff led by Buster Quinlan in preparing the green surroundings. |
